- Pay at Amazon with Paypal?
After Ebay is finally in summer 2015 from Paypal had separated, the payment provider is obviously also open to cooperation with the nearest rivals of the former parent company. In an interview with the Bloomberg news agency confirmed Paypal CEO Dan Schulman that talks between his company and Amazon have given. The goal is an integration of the payment option via Paypal on the e-commerce platform.
In the face of 200 million customers on the platform, it is difficult for every retailer not to accept PayPal. A payment via Paypal is currently not possible at Amazon. According to Schulman, the discussions concentrated on how the respective advantages could be used to the benefit of the customers. However, there are still no corresponding results of the talks to announce. When and whether Paypal is integrated into Amazon, is therefore not known.

While Schulman has been trying to increase the number of users and the frequency of payment transactions through agreements with major online merchants since the separation of Ebay, Amazon is actually working on the establishment of its own payment system. In 2015, the group had taken former Paypal manager Patrick Gauthier to Amazon and made him vice president of the payment department.
A year ago, Gauthier had in an interview with US news portal Cnet rebuffed such cooperation. If Amazon customers wanted a Paypal integration, then Paypal would already be integrated on the e-commerce platform, said Gauthier. In January 2016, more than 23 million customers will have used Amazon's payment service. What has now led to the turn-around is not known.
